A Multi-function system for SPC Data Analysis

The customer wanted a centralized system that included sample collection, alarming, out of specification notifications,

The customer wanted a centralized system that included sample collection, alarming, out of specification notifications, SPC Quality reporting, SPC testing, analysis and operator interface. One of the biggest benefits for the client is the ability to use one central database for all of their data. Another benefit would be the fact that they no longer need multiple systems and interfaces. With Ignition and Sepasoft SPC modules, we were able to narrow it down to one system.
We merged the SPC project to the OEE project so that the appropriate personnel on the floor and in top management can see real-time SPC quality data for the different machines and can compare the data against production and OEE numbers.

The operators will be more proactive with the alarms and out of control violation notifications when the values are out of specification. The cost savings for the client comes from the fact that they do not need to have multiple licenses for different systems. They only need to have the licenses for Ignition. The system collects data related to their product measurements from special quality equipment serially using Sepasoft’s Instrument interface module. The data is then evaluated and can be analyzed on the different types of charts that Sepasoft module includes, used to trigger alarms and for creating quality reports and certificates.
